Brick Street Farm is looking for a MARKETING intern to join our team. Seeking all creatives! Our growing, family-owned Agro-Tech Urban Farm would like to bring on a Marketing Intern for this fall. The successful candidate will be enrolled full-time in university or college and studying marketing or communications. We’re looking for a driven, ambitious individual who wants to create a career in social media and content marketing. We’re offering a flexible schedule. We understand your busy schedule and will be flexible with days and hours.

Intern Duties:

  • Take over content creation for all of our company social media accounts, including organizing cross-platform content strategies
  • Assist with email marketing campaigns and customer engagement
  • Assist with capturing and analyzing social media metrics
  • Perform research into our customers and provide actionable tips and advice for expanding their reach in the digital space
  • Monitor social channels for trending news, ideas and memes, then capitalize on those trends through our social media accounts
  • Develop new social media campaigns from the ground up, considering our clients’ needs and their specific industries

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program required
  • Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Hardworking and dedicated outlook
  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
  • Experience with content creation a plus

Farmhand Internship Fall 2018 - OPEN

Brick Street Farm is looking for a Fall intern (or two) to join our team. Our interns are a core member of our team and will assist with all aspects of the indoor farm operation. We will train in all areas of hydroponic systems and growing, indoor farming, organic food production and food safety. Internship will be 12 hours per week. We understand your busy schedule and will be flexible with days and hours.

Intern Duties:

  • Learn proprietary hydroponic technology
  • Assist with seed propagation, transplanting from germination to maturity area
  • Crop harvesting and packaging for customers
  • Cleaning and maintenance of grow equipment
  • Learn hydroponic science and supporting chemistry/biology 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and be on feet for 8 hour shift
  • Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds repetitively   
  • Must be able to be in a 60 degree temperature environment for entire shift
  • Must be able to reach overhead
  • Basic math (conversions)
  • Quick learner with ability to focus on tedious tasks
  • Self-motivated and punctual 
  • Enjoy working with live plants and organic materials

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hydroponic growing systems
  • Experience with environmental sciences (chemistry, biology)
  • Strong interest in learning indoor, urban growing (farming) techniques
  • Conservationist mindset

Part-Time/Full-Time Farmhand - FILLED

Brick Street Farms is looking for a passionate plant lover. We currently grow 8-10 acres of leafy greens every 5 weeks and are looking to add a minimum 3 day per week Farmhand to our staff.  Farmhands are integral parts of farm life. We are seeking someone with a background or previous experience in hydroponic growing. Must have at least basic agriculture skills, hydroponic experience preferred. We will train the right person in our proprietary technologies, operations and growing processes. Working as part of an indoor urban farm requires the ability to focus on repetitive tasks, pay close attention to detail and a positive "get it done" attitude. 

Responsibilities:

  • Learn proprietary hydroponic technology; including vertical towers and NFT systems
  • Assist with seed propagation, transplanting from germination to maturity area
  • Crop harvesting and packaging for customers
  • Cleaning and maintenance of grow equipment and farms
  • Learn hydroponic science and supporting chemistry/biology 
  • Learn and manage Microgreens production
  • Plan and prepare CSA Membership Bags for weekly pick-up
  • Assist with CSA Membership pick-up, customer facing and retails skills necessary
  • Maintain small outdoor grow towers; including nutrients, water cycles, seed selection and propagation 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and be on feet for 8 hour shift
  • Must be able to lift 30+ pounds repetitively   
  • Must be able to be in a 60 degree temperature environment for entire shift
  • Must be able to reach overhead and reach low areas
  • Basic math (conversions)
  • Quick learner with ability to focus on tedious tasks
  • Self-motivated and punctual 
  • Enjoy working with live plants and organic materials
  • Must be available the occasional Saturday (we are CLOSED on Sundays)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hydroponic growing systems
  • Experience with environmental sciences (chemistry, biology)
  • Strong interest in learning indoor, urban growing (farming) techniques
  • Conservationist mindset
